KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: The Central Bank of Kuwait stressed the importance of checking the integrity of banknotes to ensure their authenticity. It outlined four methods for verifying banknotes:
1. Lift - Hold the banknote up to the light to see the watermark of the falcon’s head.
2. Move - Tilt the banknote to observe changes in the shape and color of the wave symbol.
3. Move - Shine a light on the security thread to see it change color and reveal hidden writing.
4. Feel - Check for raised printing and tactile markings, designed to assist the visually impaired.
The Central Bank of Kuwait advised that anyone in doubt about a banknote’s authenticity should visit the nearest branch of any local bank or the banking hall of the Central Bank of Kuwait to have it examined and verified before circulation.
