CENTCOM Says 132 Commercial Vessels Redirected Back To Iran Under U.S. Blockade Enforcement

FLORIDA, TAMPA, Jun 7: U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday that American forces have redirected 132 commercial vessels and disabled six others while enforcing the U.S. blockade against Iran in regional waters.

In a statement, CENTCOM released an image showing an officer aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy observing a merchant vessel in the Arabian Sea. The command said the warship is among the assets involved in monitoring maritime traffic and ensuring compliance with U.S. restrictions.

According to CENTCOM, the enforcement operations have resulted in the redirection of 132 commercial ships and the disabling of six vessels as of June 7. The command said the measures are aimed at ensuring adherence to the blockade, amid heightened tensions and increased maritime security operations in the region.
