KUWAIT CITY, May 24: A GCC national named Abdullah Mubarak Al-Heraiqi was arrested for committing 27 burglaries. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department explained that a team of officers from General Department of Criminal Evidences, in cooperation with the relevant security authorities, has been carrying out investigations over theft cases on a daily basis for the past six months using advanced technology.

During these investigations, they discovered that 27 burglaries in Farwaniya and Hawalli governorates were carried out in the same manner. Using the records of CCTV cameras installed in shops that were burgled, the officers discovered that one individual was responsible for these 27 thefts. They tracked his details and discovered that he is a GCC national named Abdullah Mubarak Al-Heraiqi who is residing in a hotel in Hawalli area.

After obtaining a warrant, the suspect was arrested and his hotel room was raided. The officers found some of the stolen objects as well as the clothes he wore when he committed some of the crimes. They also confiscated the tool he used to break into the shops. They referred the suspect with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department urged owners of shops and houses to install surveillance cameras which will assist in discovering robbers and burglars easily.
