CBSE Cancels Class XII Board Exams in Middle East Countries

NEW DELHI, Mar 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled all remaining Class XII board examinations scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026, for students in several Middle East countries. The decision applies to candidates studying in CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In a circular issued on March 15, the board said the move followed a review of the feasibility of conducting examinations based on inputs from schools and authorities in the affected countries. The notice also stated that all exams earlier postponed through circulars issued on March 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 will now stand cancelled.

CBSE said the method for declaring results for Class XII candidates in these countries will be announced separately at a later stage. The circular was issued by Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations.
