KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: The Court of Cassation has turned down the appeal filed by an Egyptian who is accused of stabbing to death his Lebanese wife with a knife inside their apartment in Hawalli, reports Al-Rai daily.

After the lower court found him guilty of premeditated murder, the Court of Appeal upheld the verdict. When he appealed the verdict the Court of Cassation rejected his appeal and upheld the death sentence.

The incident dates back to the beginning of August last year, when security officers after receiving information about the incident rushed to the house and found the man in hysterical condition and rushed to the street carrying the knife in one hand and the copy of Holy Quran in the other.

He was subsequently arrested and admitted to committing the crime which he said was in self defense and accused his wife of attempting to stab him with a broken piece of glass.
