KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Following the request, submitted by the defense team representing the defendants in the case known as the “Army Fund”, for a response, the Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Yousef Al-Omran decided to suspend consideration of the case until a decision is issued on the request. This is the second request submitted by His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak to the head and members of the First Circuit of the Court of Cassation, which is specialized in considering the appeal submitted against the verdict issued by the Court of Ministers for the acquittal of all the defendants, including His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak and Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah.
The Court of Ministers had acquitted the former Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, the former minister of Interior and Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah, the former undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Jassar Al-Jassar, a former military attache in London Fahad Al-Baz, a former military attache in Bahrain Ali Al-Asaker, an ex-military attache in Lebanon Adel Al-Enezi, former Army Treasurer at the Ministry of Defense Samir Marjan, Army Treasurer Hamad Al-Banwan, Director of the Defense Minister’s Office Wael Al-Furaih and an officer with the rank “Colonel” on all counts.
