Cardiology Dept at Mubarak Al-Kabeer hospital performs over 250 catheterization procedures

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Head of the Cardiology Department at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital Dr. Abdullah Ismail revealed that more than 250 catheterization procedures were performed in the last five weeks. In a televised interview, Ismail pointed out that this is the normal workload of the department, as it is operating at full capacity. He confirmed that the department efficiently dealt with acute myocardial infarction patients arriving at the emergency room while adhering to the scheduled procedures.

He added that the waiting time has been reduced, such that patients can now obtain a catheterization appointment in less than 15 days. He stressed that the department continues to operate round the clock to handle emergency cases, ensuring rapid intervention and catheterization in record time. He disclosed that complications are prevented and survival rates are increased through an integrated system, combining highly qualified medical staff and state-of-the-art equipment.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fahad Al-Hajri, consultant and interventional cardiologist, disclosed that the department consists of several specialized units – catheterization, intensive care, echocardiography, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology and outpatient clinics He also confirmed the availability of 25 cardiology clinics weekly, indicating the tremendous efforts of the staff expedited patient consultations and reduced waiting times.

Dr. Ali Al-Sulaimi, another consultant and interventional cardiologist, said the hospital is equipped with the latest cardiac and vascular equipment for monitoring indicators, along with a comprehensive system of medical supplies like modern stents, catheters, wires and endoscopic ultrasound devices. He added that the continuous development in cardiac catheterization techniques greatly contributed to increasing success rates and reducing the time required for interventions. He emphasized that teamwork among doctors, nurses and technical staff is a key factor in handling critical cases quickly, guaranteeing the provision of accurate and safe medical care for patients at all stages of treatment.
