KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) announced that it had received four bids for the tender for the first phase of operating and maintaining the cathodic protection system for the quay wall and berth for small ships in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port. According to sources in the Ministry of Public Works, the agency referred the documents of the four submitted and competing bids for implementing the tender to the ministry to study them and submit the necessary recommendations regarding them within 30 days.

The tender work aims to cover iron metal structures and pipes with some materials to protect them from corrosion as a result of their surfaces being exposed to contact with soil or water. The ministry allocated KD 9 million within its budget for the current fi scal year of 2023/2024. The project will increase its budget during the next fi scal year once implementation begins. In a related context, CAPT decided to refer the tender documents for studying and designing infrastructure improvement works in Shamiya and Shuwaikh to the Ministry of Public Works for study. It highlighted that eight bids for the tender have been opened according to what is written in the price list, provided that the ministry submits the necessary recommendation within 30 days.
