KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) on Thursday opened the three bids for operating, managing and improving training services, maintenance and development of the new passenger terminal (T2) at Kuwait International Airport, aircraft aprons, and institutional administration for the central operation and maintenance of the airport model. This is a confirmation of the report that the newspaper published on Oct 12, headlined, “A negotiation session on the 14th of this month to exercise the management and operation of the T2 building.” The bids will be referred to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) to study them and present the technical recommendations within 30 days. The bid amounts are as follows: KD419,033,535, KD764,147,591 and KD959,476,430.

This tender is important as it is related to one of the air transport projects in the region, which will fall under the umbrella of PACA, with a capacity of up to 25 million passengers annually. It serves 51 aircraft and consists of a transit hotel connected to the Iron Passenger Building, a VIP reception hall, first-class lounges for businesspersons, central station building and water tank building with service level A. It targets standards of leadership in renewable energy and golden environmental designs. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Public Works is currently implementing the project in three phases.
