KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) approved the request of the Ministry of Public Works to float a tender for the study, design and supervision of the construction of the new headquarters of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) during its meeting last Wednesday. CAPT set Aug 30 as the deadline for interested companies to submit their bids.
The project, once implemented, will provide a modern work environment according to the highest technical and engineering standards, as it includes the construction of environmentally friendly buildings that will accommodate around 1,750 employees. It shall consist of a building for the employees of the Inspection Department in Mubarak Al- Kabeer Governorate, a theater, a library, a building for sports fields and activities, a mosque, storage facilities, a sample refrigeration unit, a mobile vehicle inspection area, and parking spaces for 1,750 vehicles.
The ministry set the duration for the study, design and supervision to 24 months, after which, another tender will be issued for the implementation of the project, which is expected to take 39 months. Meanwhile, the ministry announced the implementation of major road maintenance works under the new road maintenance contracts in 42 locations in the six governorates, in addition to eight sites on highways, from Aug. 1-5. The ministry revealed that these road maintenance works were carried out in three sites in Ahmadi Governorate, six in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, nine in Hawally Governorate, five in Farwaniya Governorate, nine in the Capital Governorate and two in Jahra Governorate.
