KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: If the government is serious about reviving the economy, it must cancel the laws and decisions that have isolated Kuwait from the rest of the world. Yes, Oh Prime Minister, we remain isolated because everyone is prevented from visiting (entering) our country. Another surprising thing is if a Kuwaiti youth succeeds in a running a project, people who envy him tag this success with ‘haram’ in the name of our customs and traditions.
This pushes this successful businessman to take his project to the neighboring countries where laws are logical, reasonable and most importantly flexible which facilitate investors. In the neighboring states we see one iron fist ruling, unlike us where 50 hands meddle in everything for their selfish benefits. Zahed Matar, Arab Times
