Municipality installs 124 sign boards on streets

KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Acting Head of the Public Relations Department in Kuwait Municipality Muhammad Al-Mutairi has announced the installation of 124 road sign boards in all governorates for the awareness campaign dubbed as “#be reassured”.

The campaign is aimed at curbing the phenomenon of bachelors living in private residential areas. This campaign is sponsored by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the State Minister for Municipality Affairs Fahad Al-Shu’lah, and under the direct supervision of Municipality Director General Ahmad Al- Manfouhi.

In a press statement, Al-Mutairi affirmed the seriousness of the committee in charge of the phenomenon of bachelors living in private residential areas which is under the deputy director general for Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipal Affairs.

He said the concerned teams have completed a survey in cooperation with relevant government bodies, and have taken the necessary legal steps to evacuate houses in violation of law number 125/1992 which prohibits bachelors from living in private houses. He explained that the “#be reassured” campaign will continue for two months (July and August), indicating it includes several items on raising public awareness about the law which prohibits bachelors from living in family residential areas.
