Call to punish visa traders for distorting Kuwait’s image

KUWAIT CITY, April 4: Parliamentarians, rights and media activists and jurists have called for holding accountable visa traders saying they have distorted the image of Kuwait in the international arena, reports Al- Qabas daily.

They stressed that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anas Al-Saleh, who has granted residence law violators amnesty to leave the country – which kicked off on April 1 – calls for monitoring persons (criminals) who have exploited the country for selfish benefits and violated the dignity of the nation.

MP Ahmad Al-Fadhel has called on the government to take advantage of the corona crisis to correct the demographic imbalance calling the expatriate employment file as a time bomb since many of them have now lost their source of livelihood.

MP Safa’a Al-Hashem clarified many expatriate ‘merchants’ and the ‘mafia’ occupy important positions in the state and have contributed to crimes. For their part, lawyers and jurists stressed the visa traders must be punished.
