KUWAIT CITY, June 29, (KUNA): The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) on Tuesday called for proper and civilized way in dealing with the Kuwaiti banknotes in keeping with their symbolic significance derived from the sovereignty and status of the country.

The Bank took note of some people who tend to stick the Kuwaiti banknotes on their bills of exchange to make them seem as if they were issued by the CBK as promotion for the issuers.

These banknotes cannot be used as gifts at Eid Al-Fitr, for example, unless they were removed from the cheques which have nothing to do with the CBK, the Bank said in a statement to KUNA.

These practices are improper and uncivilized as they could damage the banknotes and render them invalid for use at the ATM machines, it cautioned. Meanwhile, Kuwait Municipality Tuesday warned public against purchasing a real state or an apartment which were either violating construction regulations or unlicensed.

In a statement, the municipality said some real estate offices or exhibitions were selling apartments and residential buildings, and marketing unlicensed residential plans. “This act is violating the law, regulations of construction and will cause huge losses for the buyer,” it said and explained the municipality did not issue any license for these real estates. It urged the citizens to verify that any real etate they wished to purchase should be licensed.

The Municipal Council, in its recent ordinary session, approved the proposal to upgrade the Entertainment City and increase its land space by extending the location to cover 1.650 million square meters of the adjacent Sheikh Zayed Park affiliated to the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) such that the entire location will become 2.650 million square meters, reports Al-Rai daily.

The council presented the condition that the Touristic Enterprises Company should submit a document concerning the intended projects before approval. It affirmed that it will take necessary procedures to hasten allocation of the land and hand it over to the company without obstacles.

It revealed that it will allocate an alternative location for Sheikh Zayed Park. Meanwhile, the council also deliberated and withheld a proposal presented by the Deputy Chairman Meshal Al-Juwaisri to name a street in Dasma after Captain Obaid Bin Nassar.

It agreed to an objection of Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Essa Al-Kanderi concerning the approval for establishing the Municipality Court in collaboration with Ministry of Justice.
