Cabinet Ministers holds weekly meeting

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: Kuwait’s council of ministers conducted its weekly cabinet meeting.  His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet on the results of the visit to the country by the Prime Minister of Republic of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his accompanying delegation, and the content of the talks he held, during which the close relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop in various fields and fields, in addition to discussing the latest developments and Arab, regional and international issues of common interest.
The Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet on latest developments of pandemic situation of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) in the State of Kuwait to date, which is witnessing rapid improvement due to the continuous decline in the number of infections to reach the rate of 1.69 percent and the high recovery rate to approximately 30.98 percent.  

 The Council of Ministers expressed satisfaction with the figures on COVID19 recoveries and control on pandemic.  They also expressed their deep thanks and appreciation to the citizens and residents for their positive cooperation and their positive approach towards vaccination.

Then the Council of Ministers completed the discussion of the recommendation received from the Economic Affairs Committee regarding a project to equip a temporary area of ​​land in the Subiya area to attract fast food trucks (Food Trucks) and establish a car cinema through the owners of small and medium enterprises. The development of small and medium enterprises commissioned by Adel Shamlan Al-Hasawi, presented a detailed explanation of the project, which includes various activities and events, as well as restaurants, kiosks and mobile carts in support of small enterprises. It is suitable for the region, and the project will contain a mobile cinema in the first region and a cinema in the second region.

The Cabinet also reviewed the recommendation of the Public Services Committee regarding the report of the General Fire Service Department on the measures taken at tire dumping and assembling used and damaged tires – South Khaitan – Agricultural Sulaibiya – Scrap Al Naeem – Naqaa Al-Shamlan on safety and environmental requirements which poses a high risk for firefighter and visitors which is in violation of the law. In addition measures taken by the Environment Public Authority were discussed. The Council of Ministers decided to entrust the Fire Service Department to continue to coordinate with the concerned authorities to complete the efforts and take all deterrent legal measures for all perpetrators of violations.

Then the Council of Ministers discussed political affairs on the latest developments of the political scene at the Arab and international levels.The Council of Ministers followed up on the floods in the state of Tennessee, United States of America recently, which resulted in many casualties and injuries. The Council expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the  American people and the families of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured
