KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: During its weekly meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, the Cabinet extended its warm congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and the people of Kuwait on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The Cabinet prayed for the acceptance of good deeds and for continued security, safety, and prosperity for Kuwait and the Arab and Islamic nations.
His Highness the Prime Minister briefed the Cabinet on the State of Kuwait delegation’s participation in the 62nd Munich Security Conference, reiterating the country’s commitment to open international relations, conflict resolution through dialogue, and the promotion of global peace and security. He also highlighted bilateral discussions held on the sidelines of the conference.
The Cabinet reviewed a presentation by Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Abdul Latif Al-Mashari on developing building codes to address traffic challenges. Minister Al-Mashari emphasized that these efforts form part of Kuwait Municipality’s ongoing initiatives to enhance urban planning and regulatory solutions.
Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait presented the report of the National Standing Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, detailing recommendations for the National Strategy to Combat Trafficking. The Cabinet referred the report to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further study and action.
Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem briefed the Cabinet on Kuwait’s achievements at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) meeting. The FATF commended Kuwait’s progress in combating money laundering and terrorism financing. The Cabinet reiterated its support for strengthening national systems and emphasized the timely implementation of the FATF action plan to uphold international standards and reinforce the country’s financial and economic standing.
