CA Sri Lanka Kuwait Chapter AGM 2026

CA Sri Lanka Kuwait Chapter, the Sri Lankan Chartered Accountants’ Association in Kuwait, (“The Chapter”) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2025 at the Marina Hotel, Salmiya on the 1st May 2026 under the patronage of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Kuwait, His Excellency, Dr. Lakshitha Ratnayake. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Sabah Mubarak Al-Jalawi, Chairman of the Kuwait Accountants and Auditors Association, Rohit Agarwal, Chairperson of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India – Kuwait Chapter, and Salman Bin Khaled, Head of Audit at KPMG Kuwait.

Nandana Kalubowila was elected as the new President of the Chapter for the 2026/27 term, inducted by the outgoing President, Riyaz Jamaldeen, who served as the President for the 2024/25 term.

Executive Committee for 2026/27

The following office bearers were unanimously elected for the 2026/27 term in accordance with the Chapter’s constitution: President – Nandana Kalubowila, Vice President – Samson Fernando, General Secretary – Tharanga Perera, Treasurer – Sahan Ranasinghe.

Executive Committee Members: Shafi Ul Farook, Gayan Chaturanga, Thilina Mavilmada, Virajini Jayasinghe, Lakmal Wickramasingha, Vishwa Malinda, Sandun Wijethunga.

Tokens of appreciation were awarded to the AGM Sponsors, including Bank of Ceylon, Al Mulla Exchange, KPMG Kuwait, Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Grant Thornton, RECAFCO, Al Mailem Tires, Warba Medical Suppliers Co., Global HR Solutions, DFCC Bank.

The AGM proceedings were conducted by the General Secretary, Sachini Ariyawikrama. The Annual Report for the term 2024/25 themed “Empowered Intelligence – AI & Automation Era,” was presented by Nandana Kalubowila, on behalf of Nilanthi Asurununi, the Chief Editor. The AGM was compered by Sajad Abdul Cader, an Inaugural President of the Chapter, and the vote of thanks was delivered by the committee member, Tharanga Perera.

CA Sri Lanka Kuwait Chapter was established in November 2014 under the patronage of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait and was later formally admitted as the official chapter in Kuwait by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (“CA Sri Lanka”) on 17 February 2015. Currently, the Chapter comprises of 70 members working in esteemed positions in the public and private sector organisations in Kuwait. The Chapter primarily facilitates continuous professional development for its members and strengthens their professional skills. The Chapter further collaborates with many institutions to support and contribute to building the Sri Lankan community in Kuwait.

CA Sri Lanka, the parent body of the Chapter, is the apex body of accounting in Sri Lanka, providing continuous professional development for the accounting and finance professions. Members of CA Sri Lanka are globally recognized as a distinctive and versatile cadre of professionals, equipped to guide organizations across diverse industries toward sustained success. To date, CA Sri Lanka has produced over 8,000 members, distinguished by their professional integrity, strong technical and analytical expertise, financial discipline, and innovative thinking, qualities that enable them to consistently add strategic value to their organizations.
