KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Burgan and Arabi face off tonight in a crucial clash for second place in the 2025-2026 Premier Handball League, with the two sides meeting at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex at 6:30 pm in the highlight of the 19th round. The action begins at 5 pm when league leaders Kuwait Club take on Sulaibikhat.

Kuwait Club is at the top of the standings with 21 points, followed by Burgan on 17 and Arabi on 16. Kazma is fourth with 14 points, Sulaibikhat has six, while Nasr sits bottom with two.

Kuwait Club will be confident of extending its lead against Sulaibikhat, given its superior squad depth and technical strength. The Whites have a strong bench and a balanced lineup of local and professional players, putting them in a favorable position to claim both points and maintain their grip on the top spot.

The spotlight, however, will be on Burgan and Arabi, with just one point separating the teams in the race for the runner-up position.

Burgan will look to capitalize on its advantage by securing victory and moving to 19 points, which would leave it three clear of Arabi. The Green, meanwhile, is determined to take both points, climb to 18, and overtake its rival in the standings.

The narrow gap between the sides has heightened the stakes following their recent battle for second place. Both teams have players capable of influencing the outcome, setting up a closely fought contest in which tactical discipline and individual performances could prove decisive.

With the league entering its decisive stages, tonight’s encounter could have a significant bearing on the final standings.
