Burgan Inks Deal with Okambo and Extends Hamzadich Contract

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Burgan Club has made significant moves in their volleyball team by signing the Argentine professional, Lucas Okambo, and extending the contract of Serbian pro, Irfan Hamzadich, from the previous season. These acquisitions are aimed at bolstering the squad’s strength for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Burgan had previously added a number of local talents to their roster, including Youssef Mendil from Al-Jahra, Nasser Shweikar from Al-Arabi, and the Al-Qadisiyah pair of Badr Juhar and Abdullah Al-Muwayn.

These actions reflect Burgan ‘s unwavering commitment to delivering a strong performance and competing for domestic championships in the upcoming season. Additionally, the club has renewed the contract of their Argentine coach, Lisandro Schneider, for the second consecutive season.

Meanwhile, Al-Qadsia has extended the contract of their Argentine coach, Julian Alvarez, who previously coached Burgan. They have also renewed the contract of their Brazilian professional, Diego Moraes, and signed with the Venezuelan player, Wilner Rivas. Furthermore, they have renewed contracts with local talents Abdulnasser Al-Anzi and Nasser Abdulsamad, while acquiring Ibrahim Mendil from Al-Jahra.

Turning to the Kazma volleyball team, they have appointed Iranian coach Javad Shamami and added Russian professional Artem Sushko and German professional Igor to their lineup. Local talents like Mohammed Al- Banna, Mohammed Al-Sharif, and Ahmed Abdulrazzaq have also been included. In parallel, Kuwait has brought in Turkish coach Taner Atik, renewed contracts with their Iranian professional, Saber Kazemi, and Chinese professional, Libin Liu, while securing the services of Youssef Kabbad from Al- Jahra.
