KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Burgan Sports Club will host a special ceremony this evening to honor its first handball team after winning the 2026 Asian Handball Championship, marking a historic milestone as the club secures its first continental title.
The event will be held under the patronage and attendance of the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tareq
Al-Jalahma, the President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser, and the President of the Asian Handball Federation, Badr Al-Dhiab, in recognition of Burgan’s landmark achievement in Asian handball.The celebration will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at 6:30 p.m., with club officials, board members, sports leaders, club presidents, former players, media representatives, and supporters in attendance, creating a festive atmosphere befitting the team’s continental triumph.
The ceremony aims to recognize the efforts of the players, coaching staff, and administrative team throughout the championship campaign, culminating in a strong performance and a well-earned title that reflects the club’s rapid progress.
Club President Anwar Zaid Al-Otaibi described the victory as the result of teamwork, careful planning, and strong support. He said the event will honor all those who contributed to the achievement while reinforcing the club’s ambition to continue competing for further domestic and international honors.
