Players challenge for the ball.

MANAMA, Feb 22: The Burgan handball team is embarking on a journey from Manama to the Qatari capital, Doha, for its participation in the 40th Gulf Championship for Cup Winners' Clubs. The championship is scheduled to take place in Qatar from the 25th of this month until the 5th of the next March.

Leading the Burgan delegation is the game director, Mohamed Al-Faraj, accompanied by his assistant Abdulaziz Najib, administrator Abdullah Al-Yousifi, coach Saeed Hegazy, and his assistants Khaled Melhem, Elias Al-Bastanji, and specialist Mohamed Amin. The delegation includes 20 players, featuring the Orange team's professionals Semedo and the Egyptian Mustafa Bashir. In Doha, they will be joined by goalkeeper, Al Wakra Mohammed Al Abdi.

Burgan finds itself placed in the first group following the tournament draw, alongside Al-Arabi of Qatar, Oman of Oman, and Al-Dair of Bahrain. The second group includes the Kuwait club team, along with Al-Rayyan of Qatar, Maliha of Emirates, and Al-Shabab of Bahrain.

In other handball news, the Al-Qurain Club's handball team secured a decisive victory against Al-Tadamon with a score of 40-15 in the third round of the League matches. Simultaneously, Kazma triumphed over Al-Sahel with a score of 36-19. The matches took place in the hall of the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex.

Following these results, Al-Qurain has accumulated three points, securing the fifth position, while Al-Tadamon is at the bottom of the standings without a score. Kazma has moved up to the third place with 6 points, equal to Kuwait Club and Al-Salmiya, which surpass it in goals. Meanwhile, Al-Sahel is in thirteenth and penultimate place without a score.
