KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Burgan moved up the Handball Premier League standings, claiming temporary second place with 16 points after a convincing 36-25 victory over Al-Arabi. The match, part of Round 12, was held at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. Al-Arabi remains fourth with 12 points.
In the same round, Al-Qadsia defeated Al Nasr 29-24, rising to fifth place with 12 points, while Al Nasr stays at the bottom with just two points.
In the First Division League, Round 9 continues today, Friday, with Al Sahel facing Yarmouk at 8:00 PM and Al-Qurain taking on Al Fahaheel at 10:00 PM.
Khaitan leads the First Division with 14 points, followed by Al Qurain with 10, Yarmouk with 9, the Youth Team with 5, Al Fahaheel with 4, and Al Sahel yet to score.
The First Division champion earns automatic promotion to next season’s Premier League, while the second-placed team will contest a promotion/relegation playoff against the seventh-placed Premier League team at the season’s end.
