Burgan Bank celebrates ‘Workplace Posture Week’ – Bid to promote wellness among employees

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: Burgan Bank, a lead contributor to progress in society, celebrated ‘Workplace Posture Week’ to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a proper posture in the interest of optimal health. The week-long awareness initiative, under the umbrella of ‘Employee Health and Fitness Month, took place between May 7 and May 11.

Demonstrating its firm commitment to employee wellbeing, Burgan Bank joined forces with the internationally-acclaimed chiropractor, Dr Timothy Simansky, a New York-based expert in injury prevention and sports rehabilitation to provide hands-on posture advice and mitigate risks associated with sedentary lifestyles and long working hours in an office. A practicing chiropractic for nearly a decade and a frequent lecturer to national and international audiences, Dr Simansky delivered highly interactive sessions for Burgan Bank employees entitled ‘Workplace Survival and Proper Workplace Posture’ and demonstrated posture-friendly workstation methods and office seating arrangements within departments. During his visit, employees had the opportunity to inquire about existing injuries and address other health-related concerns.

Proper posture, often a neglected issue, has immense health benefits that may include higher levels of energy, better bone health, higher self-esteem and can prevent serious neck, back, muscle, leg and other injury.
