Cultural exchange solidifies relations between peoples – Bulgarian envoy

KUWAIT CITY, March 13: The Bulgarian Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Dimitar Dimitrov, while stressing on the importance of cultural exchange between nations, they also support and strengthen relations between peoples as a distinctive bridge of communication that provides a solid ground for common understanding, explaining that the participation of the Bulgarian Musical Band and Mandolin comes within the framework of the two countries’ celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly nations, reports Al-Anba daily.

The participation in the Qurain Cultural Festival in its 28th edition, Dimitrov praised – in a speech he delivered during the concert presented by the Bulgarian orchestra with the support of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters and in the presence of a group of Arab and foreign diplomats accredited to the country, in addition to a large audience at the Abdul Hussein Abdul Hussein Theater Al-Rida Al-Salmiya, with the support of the Ministry of Information and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature, and the director of the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival.

Dimitrov pointed out that “music is a universal language, and “we dedicate this ceremony to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Bulgaria, which falls this year,” explaining that “there will be other events and occasions through which we will try to highlight the importance of this anniversary and this date.”

The Bulgarian ambassador gave an overview of the band, which was founded in 2017 and consists of 3 women and two men. They were joined by two guests of honor, opera singer Anna Karadimitrova, and her husband, clarinetist Preslav Petkov, who spent 17 years of their lives studying music in Kuwaiti schools and universities. The band performed wonderful compositions on the clarinet, guitar, mandolin and mandola, which are very close to the oud instrument. Soprano Anna also performed operatic songs that carried the audience of “Abdul Hussein Abdel Reda” to Sofia, Spain and Italy.
