BUCHAREST, Jan 29 (KUNA): A seven-member Kuwaiti women’s figure skating team is set to compete in the 2026 Bucharest International Open, which begins Saturday at Berceni Arena in Romania and features wide international participation.

Fahad Al-Ajmi, President of the Kuwaiti Winter Sports Club and supervisor of the delegation, told KUNA that the skaters will take part in several age groups and competitive levels, noting that the tournament offers a valuable platform to develop their skills and gain international experience.

Al-Ajmi said the team completed an intensive preparation program at the club’s ice rink under the guidance of professional and international coaches.

He added that the participation aligns with the club’s strategy to raise athletes’ performance standards and strengthen Kuwait’s presence in international competitions, expressing hope that the team will deliver positive results that reflect the continued growth of figure skating in Kuwait.
