British RAF Typhoons, F-35s Intercept Drones in Overnight Operations

LONDON, Apr 6: The UK Ministry of Defence said British forces successfully intercepted multiple Iranian drones overnight as part of ongoing defensive operations in the region.

In a statement, the ministry said Royal Air Force Regiment gunners operating in a high-threat area brought down several drones, while an RAF Typhoon jet destroyed another drone that was posing a threat to a Gulf partner.

The ministry added that UK Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets, along with Wildcat helicopters, have continued defensive missions over the past 24 hours across several locations, including Cyprus, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

According to the statement, UK pilots and aircrew have logged more than 1,500 flying hours since the start of the conflict, with RAF and Royal Navy teams conducting daily operations for over five consecutive weeks to protect British personnel, interests, and regional partners.
