Raab said in a press release that the late Amir served Kuwait for many years with dedication and contributed for many decades to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

For his part, former Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Alistair Burt offered his condolences to the Kuwaiti people in general over the death of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Burt confirmed that the late Amir was very committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes, with his determination to mediate and encourage mediation in a region suffering from complex crises.

“The spirit of wisdom was lost with the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a skilled lawyer,” Burt said, adding that the United Kingdom had lost a friend who would be missed by the Arab world and the whole world.

On the other hand, a spokeswoman for the Prime Minister’s Office announced that the British government had ordered flags to be flown at the headquarters of the Prime Minister as of this evening.

The spokeswoman said in a statement that the rest of the British government agencies will, on Wednesday, fly their flags at half-mast for one day to mourn the death of the late Prince. (KUNA)
