KUWAIT CITY, Mar 3: The Qudsi Rashid, the British Ambassador to Kuwait, described the past few days as “difficult and worrying” for residents, as explosions and sirens were heard during the night while closely monitoring ongoing developments. He praised the resilience and calm displayed by both Kuwaiti citizens and British nationals, noting that multiple missile and drone incidents had been successfully intercepted by Kuwaiti air defense forces.
Ambassador Rashid expressed deep gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities for their continuous and professional efforts to protect everyone. He noted that the British Prime Minister had contacted Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled and the British Foreign Secretary had spoken with his Kuwaiti counterpart to reaffirm the United Kingdom’s support for Kuwait and convey shock at these hostile acts.
The ambassador urged British nationals in Kuwait—whether residents, visitors, or transiting travelers—to stay in their accommodations, follow local authority instructions, and monitor updates from the British Foreign Office. He stressed relying solely on official sources, maintaining contact with airlines, hotels, or tour operators, and avoiding travel to airports unless flights are confirmed. Emergency consular helplines are operating 24/7, with the embassy prioritizing the safety of British citizens while continuously monitoring developments and issuing updates. Ambassador Rashid expressed hope for a return to calm and security in the coming days.
