Brian Austin Green and Luke Perry.

LOS ANGELES, Feb 1, (Agencies): Brian Austin Green is opening up emotionally about the profound impact of learning about Luke Perry's untimely demise. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star recently shared his reflections on the heartbreaking experience during an episode of "Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone," joined by his wife, Sharna Burgess.

Recalling the moment when he first received the news of Perry's death on March 4, 2019, at the age of 52 due to a massive stroke, Green expressed the surreal and unimaginable nature of the loss. "There was a part of me that couldn't really process that that was real," Green shared on the show.

He revealed that he even sent a text to Perry the day after his passing, holding onto a glimmer of hope that Perry would respond. "Just because there was a part of me that was like, 'No, he’s gonna answer back. He’s hiding somewhere. Or something’s happened,'" Green explained.

Having co-starred with Perry on Beverly Hills, 90210 for a decade, from 1990 to 2000, Green emphasized the profound friendship they developed during that time and the years that followed, making the loss even more challenging to comprehend.

While Green had occasionally contemplated the inevitable challenge of dealing with the passing of friends and co-stars in the future, he admitted, "I honestly never expected that it would be Luke." Green fondly remembered Perry as the pillar of strength among the group, always true to himself and a constant presence in his life.
