Brazilian and Cuban recruits boost Al-Nasr volleyball team

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Al-Nasr has retained Montenegrin coach Darko for the 2026-27 season, reaffirming its commitment to stability as the club looks to challenge for domestic volleyball honors.

The club has also strengthened its roster with the signings of Cuban Kelly Bryant and Brazilian Renan Salton, adding experienced international talent ahead of the new campaign.

Locally, Al-Nasr has recruited Jassim Al-Sabbagha as an outside hitter and Mohammad Al-Ali as a setter, continuing its efforts to reinforce the squad before the season gets underway.

First-team manager Mohammad Al-Daihani said the new arrivals would provide a major boost to the side, stressing that the club had carefully selected players capable of improving the team's overall quality and enhancing its chances of competing for every domestic title.

Al-Daihani also expressed his appreciation to the club's board and volleyball committee for their ongoing support and for ensuring the team has everything it needs, both technically and administratively, to succeed.

He added that Al-Nasr remains committed to continuity, pointing to the club's decision to retain both the coaching staff, led by Darko, and his own role as team manager. He said the club believes stability is a vital ingredient for sustained success and consistent title contention.
