KUWAIT CITY, Jul 31: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has launched an investigation into a violent brawl on Abdali Road during which several shots were fired from a Kalashnikov rifle at a vehicle.

The General Department of Criminal Investigation has begun efforts to identify and arrest everyone involved in the incident, including the alleged shooter and the occupants of the other vehicle.

According to a security source, the Ministry’s operations room received a report of a fight and gunfire on Abdali Road. Security patrols were dispatched immediately and found a vehicle that had crashed into a roadside barrier.

Three men were inside the damaged vehicle. They told security officers that they had been attacked by a group of people they knew.

According to their account, the attackers deliberately rammed their vehicle before getting out and assaulting them. One of the attackers then allegedly pulled out a Kalashnikov rifle and fired several rounds at the vehicle, causing damage.

The attackers fled the scene before security forces arrived.

During an inspection of the damaged vehicle and the surrounding area, security personnel found a bullet casing inside the vehicle, providing evidence that a firearm had been used during the confrontation.

The three men told investigators that the incident was connected to an earlier altercation between the two groups two days before.

The injured individuals were taken to Al-Jahra Hospital for medical examinations. Medical staff determined that their injuries were caused by the vehicle collision and confirmed that none of the three had suffered gunshot wounds.

Investigators are continuing to work to identify and apprehend all those involved and determine the circumstances leading to the confrontation and the use of the firearm.
