Boursa Kuwait edges higher

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Boursa Kuwait closed Wednesday’s session on a positive note, with the general market index edging up 14.01 points, or 0.17 percent, to 8,448.84 points. A total of 202.5 million shares changed hands in 15,399 cash transactions, with a trading value of KD 58.31 million (around USD 178.4 million). The main market index slipped 11.58 points, or 0.15 percent, to 7,765.29 points, as 91.7 million shares were traded through 7,162 transactions worth KD 13.9 million (USD 42.5 million).

In contrast, the premier market index gained 20.26 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 9,032.58 points, with 110.8 million shares traded via 8,237 transactions, valued at KD 44.3 million (about USD 135.5 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index advanced 61.82 points, or 0.78 percent, to 8,028.89 points, with 84.18 million shares exchanged across 5,982 cash transactions totaling KD 12.17 million (approximately USD 37.2 million).
