Boursa Kuwait dips slightly

KUWAIT CITY, July 7: Boursa Kuwait ended Tuesday’s session marginally lower, with the general index slipping 5.26 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 8,733.72 points. Trading activity saw 310.2 million shares change hands across 21,796 transactions, with a total value of KD 72.1 million (USD 234.8 million). The main market index outperformed, rising 12.18 points, or 0.14 percent, to 8,841.11 points, supported by 209.8 million shares traded through 13,086 transactions worth KD 31 million (USD 100.9 million). In contrast, the premier market index declined 9.24 points, or 0.10 percent, to settle at 9,164.16 points, with 100.4 million shares traded across 8,710 transactions totaling KD 41.1 million (USD 133.8 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index posted the strongest gain, climbing 36.92 points, or 0.37 percent, to 10,098.56 points, on the back of 178.6 million shares traded through 9,588 transactions valued at KD 25.9 million (USD 84.3 million).(KUNA)
