Boursa Kuwait closes Tuesday session low

KUWAIT CITY, March 17: Boursa Kuwait ended Tuesday’s trading session in the red, with its general index slipping 45 points, or 0.53 percent, to close at 8,526.14 points. Trading activity saw 181.4 million shares exchanged through 13,944 cash transactions, generating a total value of KD 54.12 million (around USD 165.6 million). The Main Market Index declined 16.85 points, or 0.21 percent, to settle at 7,964 points. It recorded 77.3 million shares traded across 5,925 cash deals, amounting to KD 10.6 million (approximately USD 32.4 million). The Premier Market Index also moved lower, shedding 53.40 points, or 0.58 percent, to finish at 9,087.64 points. Trading volume reached 104.14 million shares through 8,019 transactions, valued at KD 43.5 million (about USD 133 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index dropped 39.21 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 8,229.51 points, on a turnover of 67.5 million shares across 4,407 transactions, worth KD 9 million (nearly USD 27.6 million). (KUNA)
