Boursa Kuwait closes higher

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Boursa Kuwait ended Thursday’s session on a strong note, with its general market index climbing 111.96 points, or 1.33 percent, to close at 8,549.77 points. Total trading reached 218.16 million shares across 16,580 cash transactions, with a combined value of KD 70.4 million (approximately USD 215.4 million).

The Main Market Index advanced 106.42 points, or 1.37 percent, to settle at 7,887.10 points. Trading volume stood at 74.3 million shares through 6,362 transactions worth KD 9 million (around USD 27.5 million). Meanwhile, the Premier Market Index also posted gains, adding 118.94 points, or 1.32 percent, to close at 9,134.21 points. It saw 143.8 million shares exchanged through 10,218 deals, valued at KD 61.3 million (about USD 187.5 million). The Main 50 Index recorded the strongest performance of the day, surging 232.53 points, or 2.91 percent, to reach 8,234.94 points. A total of 65.9 million shares were traded across 5,444 transactions, with a total value of KD 7.9 million (approximately USD 24 million).(KUNA)
