KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: Boursa Kuwait, the stock exchange, cautioned on Sunday traders and stakeholders against e-fraud, saying that there were attempts to impersonate the identities of stock market personnel. It revealed in a statement that some supposed bourse employees and top management were trying to make transactions online via fake Boursa Kuwait e-mails and social media accounts.

Traders and stakeholders should report e-fraud attempts to the competent authorities to track and arrest criminals behind such illicit acts, affirmed Boursa Kuwait’s statement, calling for avoiding any shady-looking transactions. Boursa Kuwait would not ask for online transactions, personal or financial information directly from shareholders, the statement affirmed. The stock exchange asked individuals to contact the bourse via phone or the www.complianceboursakuwait.com.kw to confirm the legality of the transactions and in case of fraud, refer the issue to the proper authorities.(KUNA)
