Booze factory in bachelors quarters busted

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Three Asians who transformed an accommodation for laborers in Jaber Al-Ahmad area into a liquor factory were arrested by Capital security operatives. The suspects were arrested upon instructions issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali to pursue outlaws. Sources said the suspect tried to run away when he spotted the patrol vehicle and the officers chased him to an accommodation for laborers where they discovered the liquor factory. The suspect with two other compatriots were referred to concerned authorities after the officers confiscated nearly 1,000 bottles of local brew and 89 barrels, and gas cylinders.


Alcoholic beer in Kabad farm
Detectives from Farwaniya Security Directorate raided a livestock pen in Kabad area and arrested a Bedoun for transforming the place to a storage unit for alcoholic beer. Security sources said the livestock pen was raided after verifying a tip-off the sector received about the activities of the suspect who was said to be peddling in alcoholic beverages, and a large quantity of beer was recovered. He was referred with the contraband to concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, the Jahra police during a sudden traffic campaign near the area schools have arrested 16 juveniles for driving cars without driving licences, reports Al- Shahed daily. The daily said, during the same campaign the traffic police have also issued 440 direct and indirect traffic citations. And, acting on information firemen from the Salmiya Fire Center rushed to a residential building in Salwa and put out a fire in one of the apartment and prevented it from spreading, reports Al- Shahed daily. The cause of the fire is being investigated. No casualties have been reported.
