KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: The Court of Appeal ordered the board chairman of a major real estate company to pay KD 56,000 in favor of an engineering consultancy office with 7 percent interest, which is the value of the outstanding bill for upgrading a real estate in an Arab country.

The interest of 7 percent is for each year within the period of delay until the payment is made, says Al-Seyassah. The lawsuit filed by Lawyer En’am Haider on behalf of the engineering office indicated both parties agreed that her client should handle the design, planning and execution drawings for the project at a cost of KD 125,000.

She explained that her client carried out the works as agreed and it satisfied the technical specifications. However, the defendant paid only KD68,000 of the agreement and the balance of KD 56,000 was the cause of litigation. She cited articles 17 and 18 the contract in demanding for financial and psychological compensations.
