Blockade of Iranian Ports Fully Enforced, Sea Trade Halted

CENTCOM, Apr 15: United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces have fully implemented a blockade of Iranian ports, halting all maritime trade to and from Iran within 36 hours.

CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said the operation underscores US maritime superiority in the region, noting that an estimated 90% of Iran’s economy depends on international sea trade. “In less than 36 hours… US forces have completely halted economic trade going into and out of Iran by sea,” he said in a post on X.

The development marks a significant escalation in pressure on Iran, with potential implications for regional stability and global markets.
