Blast sounds expected as Kuwait military disposes of unexploded ordnance in the north

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The General Staff of the Army announced that a specialized inspection and disposal team from the Land Force Engineering Unit is currently carrying out operations to handle remnants of shrapnel and unexploded explosives in the northern region of the country.

According to the statement, the controlled disposal work is being conducted today between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. as part of ongoing efforts to safely neutralize hazardous military remnants and ensure public safety in affected areas.

The General Staff clarified that any explosion sounds that may be heard during this time are expected and are a direct result of the controlled disposal operations being carried out by the engineering team. It reassured residents that these activities are planned, supervised, and pose no cause for alarm.

Authorities urged the public to remain calm and avoid unnecessary concern if they hear blasts during the specified period, emphasizing that the operation is part of routine safety and clearance procedures conducted by specialized military units.
