KUWAIT CITY, July 27: Global alternative asset manager Blackstone announced Monday plans to open an office in Kuwait through the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), strengthening the company’s presence across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Blackstone President and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Gray said in a press statement that Kuwait possesses the resources, vision and leadership needed to become a leading commercial and financial hub in the region. Gray said private equity investments can play an important role in supporting Kuwait’s long-term economic diversification efforts, expressing confidence in further strengthening a partnership spanning nearly four decades. KDIPA Director General Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said the presence of leading international companies in Kuwait reflects growing confidence in the long-term prospects of the national economy and reinforces the country’s position as a destination for investment and sustainable growth.

The statement said Blackstone expects to open its Kuwait office during the third quarter of 2026 and plans to further expand its regional presence by announcing additional offices across GCC countries next year. Blackstone is the world’s largest alternative asset manager, managing more than USD 1.3 trillion in assets while seeking to deliver strong returns for institutional and individual investors by enhancing the performance of companies in which it invests.
