KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: Bishop Aldo Berardi, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia for the Catholic Church, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and the government and people of Kuwait on the country’s re-election to the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2027– 2029 term, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Bishop Berardi explained that this significant diplomatic achievement reflects Kuwait’s esteemed standing within the international community. It underscores international recognition of Kuwait’s humanitarian contributions and foreign policy, which is rooted in moderation, balance, dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and respect for human dignity.

“As the Catholic Church, which is actively present in Kuwait, we deeply appreciate the spirit of tolerance, mutual respect, and freedom of worship that we experience here. These values are essential to promoting harmonious coexistence among citizens and residents of diverse religions and cultures. As we celebrate Kuwait’s joy over this significant national and international achievement, we reaffirm that safeguarding human rights, upholding the dignity of every individual, and promoting the values of justice, peace, and human fraternity are collective responsibilities that unite us. We look forward with optimism and hope that, through its renewed role on the Human Rights Council, Kuwait will continue to engage constructively in promoting international dialogue and cooperation while upholding human dignity and fundamental rights without discrimination. We offer our prayers to the Almighty, Exalted be He, to safeguard Kuwait, its wise leadership, and its noble people, and to grant this blessed land lasting security, stability, peace, and prosperity, ensuring that it remains a nation of love, tolerance, and mutual respect, and a place where people of diverse backgrounds and religions can meet in a spirit of fraternity.”
