LONDON, June 10: Birmingham Albion FC will compete in the West Midlands Regional League (WMRL) for the first time in its history after receiving official approval from The Football Association for the 2026-27 season.

Tawari Madloul Al-Dhafiri, a member of the club’s Development Committee, said an FA inspection team visited the club last week to assess its facilities as part of the admission process.

The inspection covered the training grounds, match venue, dressing rooms, storage areas, and meeting facilities. According to Al-Dhafiri, the club successfully met all required standards, with the committee expressing satisfaction with the quality of the infrastructure.

"The club's facilities have been officially approved and certified as fully compliant with league requirements for hosting competitive matches," Al-Dhafiri said.

He added that the approval marks a significant milestone in the club’s development, paving the way for its transition from amateur football to a more professional level of competition.

Al-Dhafiri noted that Birmingham Albion's stadium can accommodate approximately 2,000 spectators and emphasized that securing league approval was the result of extensive efforts by the club's management and staff.

Looking ahead, he acknowledged the challenges that await in the WMRL, describing it as one of the strongest leagues in the region, while expressing confidence that Birmingham Albion can deliver strong performances and achieve its objectives in the upcoming campaign.
