KUWAIT CITY, June 22: The Lebanese Embassy in Kuwait will launch its new biometric passport issuance service by early July 2026. According to informed sources, this will make the Lebanese Embassy in Kuwait the first Lebanese embassy to adopt this technology. They explained that the Lebanese Interior Minister Brigadier General Ahmed Hajjar will travel to Kuwait to participate in the official launch of the service at the embassy. This procedure will allow Lebanese residents in Kuwait to obtain the new biometric passports without having to travel to Lebanon for biometric fingerprinting and passport issuance. This step represents a qualitative leap in consular services provided to the Lebanese community and is part of a plan to modernize official document issuance procedures and expand the scope of electronic and biometric services outside Lebanon. The sources confirmed that a team of Lebanese General Security officers has already arrived in Kuwait and has begun the necessary technical and logistical preparations to operate the new system, in addition to training embassy staff on how to use the equipment and receive applications.
