KUWAIT CITY, June 22: According to reliable sources, approximately 530,000 individuals, including Kuwaitis and expats, have undergone biometric fingerprint registration since the inception of the program. Moreover, efforts are currently underway to establish additional facilities that will streamline the implementation of this project.

Sources have disclosed that the Ministry of Interior is actively involved in establishing five new biometric fingerprint centers, strategically located within prominent commercial complexes such as 360, Avenues, the capital, Al-Kout, and the Ministries Complex, reports Al Rai. These centers will enable Kuwaitis and expats to undergo biometric fingerprint registration without the need for prior appointments, following a set regulatory procedure at each respective location.

Meanwhile, other centers will continue to operate on an appointment basis. These centers cater to citizens and Gulf nationals through various Security Directorates, including Hawally, Farwaniya, Al-Ahmadi, Jahra, and Mubarak Al-Kabeer. Additionally, two centers dedicated to expats are available at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Identification Department and the Identity Identification Department in the Jahra region.

The sources emphasized that the absence of a registered fingerprint does not hinder travel for both citizens and residents. Travelers are permitted to depart the country without having their fingerprints taken, although they will be required to undergo the process upon their return.
