His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah decorates Bill Gates with the State’s firstdegree award in appreciation for his tremendous efforts and distinguished tasks in the field of humanitarian and voluntary actions.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday received the visiting Microsoft founder and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Co-Chairman, William Henry Gates, with the attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the occasion of his official visit to the country. His Highness the Amir decorated Gates with the state’s first-degree award in appreciation for his tremendous efforts and distinguished tasks in the field of humanitarian and voluntary actions.

For his part, Bill Gates said, “I want to thank His Highness the Amir for welcoming me on my first visit to Kuwait today. It’s an honor to meet a man who has had such an important role in global development, and (to) discuss ways to further our partnership.” The meeting was attended by Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah, Deputy Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al- Sabah and the head of the accompanying honorary mission, Adviser at the Amiri Diwan Dr Yousef Hamad Al-Ibrahim.
