The smugglers and bags of cannabis found in their possession

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The Coast Guard General Administration for the second consecutive day thwarted attempts by Arab men to smuggle 33 kilos of cannabis into the local market, reports Al-Anba daily.

This attempt was foiled following an earlier attempt 24 hours ago when the drug peddlers attempted to smuggle into the country about 180 kilos of drugs. According to a security source, a boat from a neighboring country entered Kuwait’s territorial waters, and the Coast Guard patrol boats were dispatched to intercept the intruders.

When the men were arrested and referred for investigation, they admitted that 33 bags of cannabis were dumped in the sea and they were combing the area looking for the drugs. However, the investigators later found a plastic barrel and inside were 33 bags filled with cannabis. The two suspects also said they had dumped the barrel in the sea but did not know the identity of the recipient.
