Bid to mitigate disaster risk

KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Acting Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Khaled Fahd, hosted Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al Marri, the Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council Center for Emergency Management, along with his delegation at the DGFD building, reports Al-Jarida daily. The meeting focused on discussing areas of cooperation between the two entities, aiming to achieve mutual objectives. Al Marri provided insights into the GCC Center for Emergency Management and its role in enhancing the capabilities of GCC countries through collaborative efforts in handling emergency situations. In return, Fahd presented an overview of the preventive measures implemented by the Fire Department to mitigate the risks of disasters and accidents.

The visiting delegation was also given an opportunity to observe the operations center’s functioning and response protocols. Both sides agreed to establish a framework for cooperation to effectively pursue shared goals. The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Ahmed Hammoud, the Acting Vice President of the Control Sector, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Daihani, the Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, and several other leaders from the fire force. However, despite Major General Fahd’s reputation for competence and dedication to advancing the fire force’s departments, recent actions have stirred controversy.
