KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: The commercial companies section in the Ministry of Trade’s department of sole proprietorships sought assistance from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to arrest expatriates who follow up the transactions of companies they do not work for, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily indicated any individual, especially foreigners, seen in the ministry’s corridors, will be apprehended and referred to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to cancel his work permit and then referred him to the Interior Ministry for deportation if the officials discover that his residency is not under the company he is transacting for. The same fate awaits those who do not possess the power of attorney to handle affairs of the company.

According to sources, a resolution has yet to be adopted to solve three problems; protect the commercial transactions of company owners (Kuwaitis and even expatriates) from fraudsters, and this applies to any transaction; to reduce crowd and congestion in the corridors of the ministry; to end the phenomenon of completing transactions of dummy companies. Sources noted dummy companies include those appearing in the advertisement section of newspapers and social media, as many citizens and foreigners sought their services without knowing their legitimacy.
