KUWAIT CITY, March 29: Despite the imposition of the partial curfew 3 weeks ago, and despite the ban on the use of bicycles and scooters during the two-hour ‘jogging’ period which has been approved by the Council of Ministers, the shops have witnessed an unprecedented turnover during the past days, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The daily during a tour of shops selling bicycles witnessed a buying spree in the Sharq region in total disregard to social distancing and other preventive measures. A manager of a bicycle shop said for him the coronavirus was ‘blessing in disguise’ because the bicycle sale has shot up.

He mentioned global factories manufacturing bicycles can no longer cover the current market demands, indicating that it is difficult to import at the present time due to the pressure on the main factories, and that the pre-order for the bike may take a whole year to realize.
